AccessNI

Access NI is the system for the disclosure of an individual’s criminal history to help organisations make safer recruitment decisions. It was established in April 2008 by the Northern Ireland Office as a result of the introduction in Northern Ireland of Part V of the Police Act 1997.

For Cricket Clubs it is essential that anyone with regular or continuous contact with children to be Access NI Checked, steps below:

(Access NI applications cannot be processed until ID has been verified, See below)

 

Application Steps

  1. Person to be vetted creates a log in: https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/services/apply-online-enhanced-check-through-registered-body
  2. Apply for an Enhanced check through a registered Body using: NCU PIN: 534511

 

Via Club Liaison Officer/Welfare Officer:

  1. Download & print the ID Validation Form (& for U18’s the Parent/Guardian Consent Form)
  2. Download and Sign the self declaration form
  3. Take ID documents, 1 from group 1 & 2 from Group 2 (seen on page 2 of the above ID Validation form) along with the self-declaration form to your club welfare officer/Liaison Officer
  4. Club Liaison Officer/Welfare Officer sends/emails ID Validation/Copies of ID Documents & Self Declaration Form to NCU.

 

Certificate issued: 

  1. Upon receiving Enhanced Disclosure Certificate, Email the AccessNI Number to Safeguarding@cricketireland.ie who will issue a confirmation letter with a up to 3 year expiry date.
  2. Once the Letter is issued, use the Cricket Ireland Letter as evidence of vetting

 

Please Note:

  • ID Documents will be held for 90 days for auditing purposes.
  • As part of the application process Cricket Ireland will request a disclosure in relation to all applicants who have a criminal record.
  • As part of the application process applicants should be aware that a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position.
