Northern Knights squad for upcoming IP20 and IP50 fixtures against Munster Reds.
Chair of Selectors Andrew Cowden commented on the sixth squad announcement of the IP season:
“Following last week’s excellent win in the IP20 against the NW Warriors and unfortunately having the IP50 abandoned due to rain, the squad now focus on preparing fully to face the Munster Reds in both formats and finishing our IP season strongly.
The selectors have selected a squad of 13 for both games. Mark Adair is unfortunately ruled out due to an injury sustained in the IP20 fixture against NW Warriors. Matthew Humphreys is only available for the IP20 due to having a university exam on Thursday. Also, due to new visa requirements in ROI Ruhan Pretorius and Tyron Koen are unavailable. Tom Mayes and Jake Egan remain unavailable due to injury.
Due to the unavailability outlined above, I’m delighted to announce that we have called up two of our young and upcoming NCU players Adam Kennedy and Adam Leckey. Adam Kennedy will join the squad for the IP50 fixture on Thursday and congratulations to Adam Leckey who receives his first call-up to the Knights squad following a promising Future Series.
Finally, in the absence of Mark Adair, Neil Rock will captain the side and I’d like to wish Neil and his team all the best for this week.”
