The NCU Senior Women’s squad to play their second and final Future Series 50 overs fixture against Cricket Leinster on Wednesday 14th August at Laurelvale CC.
Chair of Selectors Andrew Cowden commented on the fourth future series squad of the season:
“After an improved and very promising future series to date, we now aim to finish the competition strongly against Cricket Leinster this week.
The selectors have selected a squad of 11 for the fixture this week with several changes due to availability, an Ireland U15 tour, an NCU U17 festival taking place and a club tour to Jersey.
Amy Benson, Rachael Harrison, Sarah McCallan and Naomi Matthews have been added to the squad replacing Rebbeca Lowe, Lucy Andrews and Grace Wilson (all playing for Ireland U15), Gracie Keenan and Georgia Wilson (club tour to Jersey).
Other players unavailable include Charvisri Geddam (club tour to Jersey), Eva Wilson (Playing for NCU U17), Sophie Hinds (unavailable), Lucy Ly (unavailable) and Aoife Fisher (injured).
Amy Hunter and Cara Murray are all not eligible to play in this competition as they’re members of the Irish Women’s Performance squad.
The future series is part of our NCU Senior Women’s programme and we have again picked a young and exciting squad accompanied by our more experienced players.
Finally, Amy Caulfield will again captain the side I wish Amy and her team all the best on Wednesday as we aim to finish the future series strongly.”
