Waringstown II win the GMcG Junior Cup

Waringstown stalwart Simon Harrison led his side to victory by 3 wickets in the final over of a tense and exciting GMcG Junior Cup final at Upritchard Park, Bangor.

Highlights of the final:

  • Lisburn posted 177-7 from their 40 overs with valuable contributions from Adam Berry (38), Richard Simpson (28*) and David Simpson (48*). James Hall (2-19) and Simon Harrison (2-23) were the pick of the Waringstown bowlers.
  • James Hall’s 49 and contributions from the top 4 made it look like Waringstown were in control until Richard Simpson got on a roll taking 4-31.
  • The experienced Simon Harrison kept his cool on his way to 45* hitting 6x4s and 1×6 to win the game in the final over in front of the travelling supporters from Waringstown.
