Chair of selectors Andrew Cowden commented on the second Future Series squad of the season:
“After an excellent start last week in the future series T20 competition, we now aim to back these good performances up against the North West Warriors this week.
The selectors have selected a squad of 12 for the T20 fixture this week with Charlotte Lyons and Rebecca Lowe both unavailable. Grace Wilson replaces Rebecca Lowe and Cherry Geddam replaces Charlotte Lyons in the squad for this week. Amy Hunter, Cara Murray and Abbi Harrison are all not eligible to play in this competition as they’re members of the Irish Women’s Performance squad.
The future series is part of our NCU Senior Women’s programme and we have again picked a young and exciting squad with no fewer than eight players under 19 accompanied by our more experienced players.
Finally, Amy Caulfield will again captain the side I wish Amy and her team all the best on Friday as we aim to continue our positive start to the 2024 future series.”
