The Knights’ team to play against the Leinster Lightning on Tuesday 4th (IP20) and Wednesday 5th (IP50) June respectively at Stormont.
Chair of selectors Andrew Cowden commented on the fourth squad announcement of the IP season:
“We now turn our focus to preparing fully to face Leinster Lightning in both formats and continuing our positive start in both competitions.
The selectors have selected a squad of 13 for both games. Mark Adair, Paul Stirling, Ross Adair and Neil Rock are all unavailable as they are part of Ireland’s T20 World Cup squad and we wish them well ahead of Ireland’s opening World Cup fixture against India on Wednesday. Unfortunately, Jake Egan has picked up an injury which rules him out of the two fixtures this week. With other minor injuries within our batting group the selectors have called up the experienced Jason Van der Merwe following his excellent start to the season to offer batting cover.
We’re pleased to announce that Oliver Metcalfe, Carson McCullough and Harry Dyer will all be loaned to the Munster Reds for their two fixtures this week to maximise their IP playing opportunities and to aid their development. Jack Dickson was unavailable this week due to university commitments. All players remain a big part of our future plans at senior interprovincial level. Finally, I’d like to wish James and his team all the best for this week.”
