A few changes from the team that beat Munster Reds on Monday due to call-ups to the Ireland Men’s squad who left for England today.
Chair of Selectors Andrew Cowden commented on the third match day squad announcement of the IP season:Firstly I’d like to congratulate all of the players and coaching staff on another hard-fought victory against Munster Reds on Monday. A special mention to Tom Mayes and Theo Van Woerkom with the ball and to Cade, Morgan and Neil who showed great ability and excellent character under pressure to chase down 270.
Following yesterday’s game we now turn our focus to preparing fully for the North West Warriors on Thursday in Bready and continuing our good start to the season.
The selectors have again selected a squad of 12 for the game with Mark Adair, Paul Stirling, James McCollum, Matthew Foster and Tom Mayes unavailable due to their international call-ups and we wish all five the best of luck in England. These call-ups are in addition to a number of our younger players being unavailable due to examinations and two players currently out on loan. Therefore, we welcome back into the squad John Matchett and Josh Manley who were part of the opening match squad against Leinster. We also welcome Max Burton and Jacob Mulder into the squad for the first time this season and we wish both players the very best. Neil Rock will captain the team as he did against Leinster in the absence of Mark and James.
Finally, I’d like to wish Neil and his team all the best for Thursday.
The Rario IP50 fixture takes place at 10:45 on Thursday at Bready.
