NCU Winter coaching Programmes

Sep 17, 2021 | Juniors, Rgional Programmes (Junior Regional Programme), Youth News

Over the years, the NCU has continually looked to build and improve the coaching programmes its delivers to help and grow both the Clubs as well as the Performance environments.

Within the past few seasons, we have seen various new successful initiatives being started such as summer camps, Development camps and Coaches Masterclass workshops.  On top of this our representative junior programme has expanded with new age group sides in both the boys’ and girls’ talent pathways being added.

This year we are excited to be able to announce a new revamped winter coaching programme that will cater for more players than ever before in both our development (Clubs focus) and our Talent pathways (Performance focus)

Development Camps (Clubs Focus)

The NCU Development Camps will be open to all junior club players and will focus on basic core cricket skills development.  They will consist of fun skills and games based on the fundamentals of batting, bowling, and fielding.  This programme offers learning opportunities from Under 9 to Under 15 boys and girls.
Oct 2021 will be the first phase (4 weeks) and we plan to deliver a further phase (4 weeks) after Christmas.

Talent Programmes (Performance Focus)

The NCU Talent Programme will be selected squads at U9, U11,13,15,17,19 boys and U13,15,17 girls. Starting in November and running for 6 weeks in the first phase before Christmas with a further (8 week) phase again after Christmas.

A new part of our pathway this year is the MCC foundation hub.  This new exciting programme will be for some players identified at the development camps or players who currently just fall outside the talent programme squads.
The MCC hub will have 3 separate squads – U13s (Boys) U15s (Girls) U15s (Boys)

They will receive a coaching programme starting in January (10 weeks). This will give its participants quality coaching that will hopefully help them push into their respected talent squads.
