Speaking about the fixtures and squads, MTB Northern Knights Head Coach Simon Johnston said: “Three matches in three days is an exciting new development for our emerging players this year and hopefully the ever-increasing programme size and increased investment in it shows its continued importance to us as a union.

Including these three games and our recent away fixture to the Lightning Bolts earlier this month a total of 27 different NCU players will have had game time at this level. With further fixtures and opportunities to come.

The Emerging programme is a vital part of our pathway ensuring that not only our best younger players but also players impressing in senior cricket club get a chance to progress to higher honours.

As well as the guys selected, we have also had a good number of people unavailable due to exams and work commitments.

The last game v the Lighting Bolts will also be the first opportunity for us as a coaching staff to get a look at David Delany this year and for him to get some overs under his belt after completing his exams and before joining up with the Knights senior squad for the rest of the year.

As always, a big thank you must go to our Sponsors MTB Solicitors for their continued support, without whom we wouldn’t be able to offer these incredible opportunities to our emerging players.
