The Irish cricket team has yet again captured the imagination of the wider public with some superb performances on the world stage, and Muckamore CC have come up with something a bit different to try and educate the youth of Antrim!
On Wednesday 25th March (2pm-4pm), @ Antrim Grammar School, Muckamore CC are running an event which will include 30 kids from Antrim Grammar, 20 kids from Parkhall, and 20 people from the club itself. Highly respected local umpire, Alan Neill, will run the course, that will based around Umpiring and the laws of the game.
Muckamore CC representative, Charles Henderson, had this to say about the event ‘The idea of the course is to bring the laws of the game to the kids, so that they can be better informed on the game that they watch and play. The World Cup has gripped everyone across Ireland, and we’re trying to strike while the irons hot, in trying to get more kids involved in our great sport. The event will also bring the club into the heart of the community, and in turn, we hope those kids that don’t currently play the sport, will come and play for Muckamore this coming summer @ Moylena’.
Everyone is welcome to come along to this event on the 25th March. If you would like to add your name, or that of your child, please contact the following e-mail address. charly.henderson@btinternet.com
