Please find below details of information sessions being hosted jointly by Sport Northern Ireland and the Charity Commission regarding recent changes to legislation around charitable registration which may be applicable to sports clubs.
It is compulsory for all charities operating in Northern Ireland to apply for charity registration and the Commission is urging all charities to prepare now. There are 12 descriptions of charitable purpose, which include the advancement of amateur sport therefore sports clubs may fall under this category.
