NCU Under 9sIn a new venture the NCU this winter have organised coaching for boys from P4 and P5 who have been nominated by their clubs.  The 20 boys who have been nominated are from 7 clubs and 12 different schools.  Brian Walsh and Alan Waite from the NCU Representative Directorate have been delighted by the response and applaud the fact that so many clubs are already coaching boys from these age groups.

‘Head Coach’ of the group Andy McCrea was very pleasantly surprised by the ability of the boys who attended the first of 4 organised coaching sessions at UUJ. Andy said ‘they have obviously been coached at their clubs and were a pleasure to work with.  They showed a lot of promise and are a credit to their clubs and the hard work that has clearly been carried out at club level.’

NCU winter training for youth cricketers has restarted the past two weeks, with sessions already held for the reduced Under 9s, 11s, 13s, 15s and 17s squads.  They have been organised for 13 weeks after which the squads will move to outdoor sessions and matches.
