Ulster Bank Schools Cup – Holders Through to Semis

Holders Grosvenor Grammar School are through to the last four of the Ulster Bank Schools Cricket Cup and will now play Campbell College for a place in the final. The other semi-final will be between Wallace High School and Limavady Grammar School.
Grosvenor scored a convincing six wicket win over Belfast High School while Campbell reached the semi-finals with a more narrow, two wicket victory over Regent House.
In an all-Lisburn quarter-final, Wallace High School beat Friends’ School by five wickets – with just two balls to spare. They will now be at home to Limavady Grammar School following their four wicket win in a high scoring game against Strabane Academy.
The third round results were:
- Regent House 146 (G Anderson 33, P Eakin 25, M Best 3-16), Campbell 149-8 (J Beattie 55no, P Beverland 42, P Eakin 3-27, T Carson 3-28), Campbell won by 2 wickets.
- Strabane Academy 199-9 (J Robinson 66, C Campbell 50 no, R Allen 4-27), Limavady Grammar School 202-6 (A Pierce 47, S Kennedy 47, JW Millar 25), Limavady GS won by 4 wickets.
- Belfast High School 68 (L Benson 31, P Davison 4-8, P Carser 4-21), Grosvenor Grammar School 72-4 (A Johnson 32 no), Grosvenor GS won by 6 wickets.
- Friends’ School 171-5 (P Bell 81, P Ferguson 23), Wallace High School 173-5 (J McCallan 65, R Moore 34, R Waite 22), Wallace HS won by 5 wickets.
