The Northern Knights squad to take part in the first round of the RSA Inter-Provincial T20 Cup on Friday 21 June at Pembroke Cricket Club has been announced.
The squad selected for the RSA Inter-Provincial Championship match is as follows:
- Andrew White (captain) (Instonians CC)
- Chris Dougherty (CIYMS CC)
- Philip Eaglestone (Waringstown CC)
- Nigel Jones (Civil Service NI CC)
- Eugene Moleon (Instonians CC)
- Lee Nelson (Waringstown CC)
- Zac Rushe (Instonians)
- James Shannon (Instonians)
- David Simpson (Lisburn CC)
- Nikolai Smith (Instonians CC)
- Jonny Terrett (North Down CC)
- Greg Thompson (Waringstown CC)

North Down’s Peter Eakin is once again unavailable for selection as he will be representing Ireland at Under 19 level against MCC at Carrickfergus CC. A mixture of injury and exam commitments has meant that Peter, who played at Ireland “A” level in 2012, has yet to don the Knights colours this season. Another absentee is Waringstown’s Gary Kidd who has work priorities. However the Knights welcome back all rounder Nigel Jones who missed the IPC game at Eglinton.
Following the announcement of the first T20 squad, Head Coach, Eugene Moleon said: “T20 cricket is a great format to challenge cricketeres skills and how we react to situations. Its also an enjoyable form for both players and spectators alike. As a group we are looking forward to the day and hope to build on our confidence from our last result.”
The Northern Knights, sponsored by Horwood Neill Holmes, will play one match at 5pm on Friday at the RSA Inter-Provincial T20 Cup against Leinster Lightning.
