Lurgan Ladies Cricket
Jonny Gillespie Lurgan Ladies recently played against the Lurgan U13b game in their first ever match. The game was played at Pollock Park and both teams used the evening to try things out and learn more about the sport. The girls have been training hard under the watchful eye of Callum Grieve along with mum Sandra. The ladies batted first and scored a respectable 72 from their 20 overs, Ireland u17 player and captain for the evening Hannah Grieve top scored with 30 which included a massive six over mid wicket. The boys b team eventually chased the total down and came out narrow winners. The result was not important for either side and both teams will take a lot away from this game. Well done to all and Lurgan CC would like to thank Callum and Sandra Grieve for their hard work and dedication in getting the girls going. The ladies train on a Wednesday evening at the club at 7.pm The ladies followed this performance up with a great victory over Waringstown. Lurgan batted first and scored 130 for 3 from their 20 overs. Hannah Grieve top scored with 51 retired. Waringstown finished all out on 129. Congratulations to both teams for such a high scoring game. |
