The Northern Knights have named a 14-player squad for the upcoming 3-day Dream11 Inter-Provincial T20 Festival at Stormont, beginning this Tuesday. The festival marks the second of four scheduled T20 events in the 2025 season, and follows a promising start last week in Cork.
Chair of selectors Andrew Cowden commented on the second IP20 squad announcement of the season:
“The selectors have named a squad of 14 for the second festival, following a positive start last week in Cork. We welcome Ruhan Pretorius back from injury; however, we have unfortunately lost Matthew Foster, who joins Jordan Neill on the sidelines. Adam Leckey is unavailable as he is representing Ulster Schools against Southern Schools.
Neil Rock will again captain the side; however, he will miss the first game due to a family bereavement. Matthew Humphreys will captain the team on Tuesday against the North West Warriors. I wish Neil, Matthew and the squad all the very best for the second of four T20 festivals this week.
I would like to thank Uel Graham, who has been a Knights selector, for his commitment and input over the past two seasons. Uel has recently been appointed a Cricket Ireland match referee and has decided to step down as a selector while undertaking this role. I wish Uel all the very best in the next stage of his cricketing journey.
I’m delighted to announce that Lee Nelson will replace Uel as a selector. Lee needs no introduction to the NCU cricket fraternity, and I’m thrilled that we have someone with Lee’s extensive local cricketing knowledge, playing background, success, and winning mentality. I believe this will greatly benefit the squad and help continue driving the Knights forward. I would like to welcome Lee and thank him for accepting the role.”
