The Northern Knights will get their 2025 Inter-Provincial season underway this Wednesday 7 May, when they take on the North West Warriors in the opening IP50 fixture. The match will take place at Stormont, with play scheduled to begin at 10:45am.
Chair of selectors Andrew Cowden has announced a 13-player squad for the clash, and praised the efforts of players and coaching staff over the winter months:
“Firstly, I’d like to thank and congratulate all the players and coaching staff for their hard work and dedication over the winter months. I’d also like to congratulate those players who received Under-19, Wolves, or Senior international call-ups during the winter. We hope these experiences will lead to successful IP seasons for them all.
Unfortunately, Paul Stirling, Ben Calitz, and Mark Adair will miss out due to injury. This provides an exciting opportunity for Adam Leckey, who has come through our NCU pathway from Under-11 level and recently enjoyed a successful Under-19 tour of Zimbabwe. We wish Adam well in what we hope will be the start of a long journey with the Knights.
Neil Rock will captain the side. I wish Neil and his team all the best for Wednesday as we aim to make a positive start to the season.”
