The Northern Cricket Union (NCU) is pleased to announce the squads for the Northern Knights, Emerging Knights, and Emerging Players Programme (EPP) ahead of the 2025 Inter-Provincial season.
With preparations well underway following a productive winter, the NCU is confident that its representative teams are well-equipped for a competitive and exciting season of cricket at all levels of the domestic structure.
Andrew Cowden, Chair of Selectors, commented:
“Firstly, I’d like to thank and congratulate all of the players and coaching staff for their hard work and dedication over the winter months. I’d also like to recognise and congratulate those players who achieved Under-19, Wolves, or Senior international call-ups during the winter. We hope these valuable experiences will lead to successful IP seasons for them all.”
As part of the new season, the NCU has confirmed a change in senior leadership:
“We would like thank Mark Adair for his very successful tenure as captain, however, due to his ever demanding senior commitments and workloads, we’re taking this opportunity for Neil Rock to take over as Knights captain who has deputised for Mark in previous seasons.”
In addition, the NCU is celebrating a coaching milestone:
“We would also like to congratulate Knights Assistant Coach Ian Butler on his appointment as bowling coach of Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League and we wish Ian every success and we hope the experience benefits Ian and the NCU going forward. As part of the NCU’s Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programme we’re delighted that Chris Taylor and Jonny Parker will assist Head Coach Simon Johnston during Ian’s absence, along with the experienced Faiz Fazal who will continue to support the coaching staff.“

The Inter-Provincial season begins on Wednesday 7th May, with the Northern Knights aiming to build on last season’s momentum across all formats.
