Quarter-Finals of the Irish Senior Cup and National Cup

Jun 12, 2024 | General News

The draws for the Quarter Finals of the Irish Senior Cup and National Cup all-Ireland club cup competitions have been undertaken and some blockbuster ties await.

The two competitions are the peak club cup competitions in men’s club cricket in Ireland, with hundreds of players travelling thousands of kilometres collectively with the goal of winning a highly sought-after national title. The Quarter Finals of the Irish Senior Cup and National Cup are scheduled for 30 June 2024.

However, with a very wet weekend last week, a number of Quarter Finalists have yet to be confirmed, with Second Round matches going to the Reserve Day (16 June). As such, the Quarter Final draws below reflect the confirmed and yet-to-confirm entrants in the next round.

The dates for the Irish Senior Cup and National Cup rounds are:

  • Quarter Finals: 30 June 2024
  • Semi Finals: 14 July 2024
  • ISC Final: 17 August 2024
  • NC Final: 18 August 2024

Livescoring of all matches can be found here.

CSNI’s seam bowler Matthew Foster said:

“We’ve had a positive start and hopefully we can have a nice run in the cup this year. We had a good win against Newbuildings in the first round – Jordan Neil got some good runs for us, and then everyone sort of chipped in which then got us over the line, so a good result.

“Last week’s second round was washed out, so we’ll head to Instonians on Sunday for the reserve day. We obviously know them very well from playing in the NCU. We had a close game in the league just a few weeks back. So, we’ll be looking to get one back on them this weekend. It’s also at Shaws Bridge, so slightly different conditions. But we’ll be going out there trying to get the win.

“The Cup means a lot to us. As a club, we have been called a bit of a ‘cup team’ – we feel on our day we can beat any team. So, it would be nice to win the Irish Senior Cup – it’s something we haven’t won as a club. To be able to have that trophy in the cabinet, that would be great for us.”

Details about each competition follow.
