CIYMS on the brink of the Robinson Services Premier League title, Lisburn still favourites for Section 1 and Templepatrick thwarted by the rain on Sunday.

Robinson Services Premier League

The weekend NCU programme was badly hit by the rain, however CIYMS need only one more win to secure the Robinson Services Premier League title.

On Saturday CIYMS beat Waringstown, at The Lawn, by 7 wickets. The home side set a total of 194 for 6, with captain Greg Thompson scoring 71 not out and Kyle McCallan 46 not out. Alan Coulter was the pick of the CIYMS bowlers, taking three wickets. After a shaky start wher CIYMS lost 3 quick wickets a fine unbeaten partnership between Ryan Hunter (77 not out), and Jason van der Merwe (79 not out), saw CIYMS to a DLS adjusted target of 191, with the loss of only three wickets.

Carrickfergus completed their league programme with a three wicket win against Muckamore. Daniel Poulton took four wickets in the Muckamore innings (158 for 8), with Luke Allen contributing 56 runs. A half century from Jamie Holmes (52) helped Carrickfergus to victory, and a record of 7 wins from fourteen games.

Armagh now need to win their three remaining fixtures to have any chance of Premier League cricket next season. They were beaten by Instonians on Saturday, with Shane Getkate 35 not out, as the home side reached their victory target of 110, with the loss of five wickets. Andrew White took three wickets earlier in the day as Armagh scored 109 for 8, in a game reduced in overs.

North Down had a 58 run victory against CSNI, with Ruhan Pretorious, contributing another all round performance, scoring 56 and taking three wickets. CSNI were bowled out for 123, with Martin Moreland taking two wickets with no runs conceded.

Neither fixture on Sunday escaped the rain and CIYMS will have to wait until their rearranged game agaisnt CSNI on Thursday evening to have the opportunity to seal the league title.

Robinson Services League Section 1

In Section 1 Lisburn maintained their position at the top of Section 1 with a convincing 87 win over Lurgan. Holywood moved in to second place by themselves with 45 run win over Bangor. At the bottom wins for Donacloney Mill and Laurelvale meant that Lurgan's brief respite from the relegation places lasted only a few days. There are still two weekends of fixtures to go in Section 1 so still quite a bit to play for at the top and bottom.

Saturday Results
Derriaghy beat Downpatrick by 55 runs
Donacloney Mill beat Woodvale by 67 runs
Holywood beat Bangor by 45 runs
Laurelvale beat Cregagh by 7 wickets
Lisburn beat Lurgan by 87 runs

Robinson Services League Section 2

In Section 2 Templepatrick must wait another week to claim the Section 2 trophy as their game against Dundrum fell foul of Sunday's bad weather. Second placed Cliftonville Academy beat Cooke Collegians by 6 wickets on Saturday to keep their hopes of winning Section 2 alive for one more game although Templepatrick's net run rate will take some overhauling. Ballymena had a comfortable win over Dunmurry and could still sneak in to the second promotion slot if Cliftonville Academy slip up in their remaining fixture against BISC.

Saturday Results
Ballymena beat Dunmurry by 119 runs
BISC beat Victoria by 6 wickets
Cliftonville Academy beat Cooke Collegians by 6 wickets
Drumaness beat Belfast SuperKings by 43 runs
Monaghan beat Dundrum by 199 runs
Saintfield beat Ards by 164 runs
